HVAC Estimate Template: Blank Lines You Fill

This HVAC estimate template starts empty. The rate on each line is a number from your price book, not a figure this page invented. A proposal with equipment tiers is a different document.

What an HVAC Estimate Template Holds

An HVAC estimate template is the blank record before anyone presents a system. Type the customer, the address, the estimate number, the date the price holds, each line, and what the job does not include. The amount on a line is quantity times the rate you typed. The total is the sum of those amounts. Nothing else is added.

Lines

All calculations are estimates based on historical information and should be verified by the user. The rates are the numbers you typed.

How This HVAC Estimate Template Totals a Line

Jobber's public HVAC estimate page lists the pieces a contractor usually prints: the business, the client, a quote number, the work, quantities, what is left out, how long the price holds, and the terms. This HVAC estimate template keeps that shape and leaves every rate blank. A sample dollar amount from another site is not a rate you can defend on a callback.

Quantity times your rate

If you type quantity 2 and rate 100, the line amount is 200. If you type quantity 1 and rate 50, the line amount is 50. Those two lines add to 250. The 100 and the 50 are stand-ins so you can see the multiplication. Replace them with the rate in your book before the sheet leaves the office.

Both lines——250

What Should an HVAC Estimate Template Leave Blank?

Five things stay empty until you fill them. A prefilled condenser price would be a number this page never measured, and a customer can treat that number as your price. Leave the company line, the customer, the estimate number, every rate, and the exclusion blank. You type them from the price book before the sheet leaves the office.

  1. The company line and license text, in your words.
  2. The customer and the job address.
  3. The estimate number and the date the price holds.
  4. Each description, quantity, and rate. Equipment, labor, and anything else are lines you name.
  5. The exclusion. If a line of work is not in the total, write it in the box.

How the offer is written, including scope and a signature, is how to write an HVAC proposal. How the rate got into the book is how to price HVAC jobs. Software that builds estimates is best HVAC estimating software. This page is the blank layout those pages assume you already have.

Where the sheet stops

HVAC proposal software is where an office keeps a catalog and a rep presents options, including a signature on the visit. This template does not select equipment, open financing, or create a project. Three tiers side by side are good, better, best HVAC proposals. Quoting software is HVAC quoting software. A multi-trade sheet that applies margin is the contractor estimate template. Do not use that margin math here and call the result an HVAC-only total.

An HVAC quote template search is the same blank sheet. After the customer accepts, the later bill is the HVAC invoice template. Book a demo if the lines should live on the customer record instead of in a downloaded file that nobody updates.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an HVAC estimate template?

It is a blank sheet for one HVAC job. You type the company line, the customer, the estimate number, each description, each quantity, and each rate. The page multiplies quantity by the rate you typed. It does not supply equipment prices.

Is an HVAC quote template a different sheet?

No. People search HVAC quote template for the same blank layout. This page is that sheet. A proposal, with tiers and a signature, is a different page.

Does this page add markup or tax?

No. The total is the sum of the line amounts you created. A tax line is a line you type, with your own rate. A margin percent stays on the multi-trade estimate template.

Where do good, better, and best options go?

Not on this sheet. One estimate is one set of lines. Three equipment tiers belong on the good, better, best proposal page, and the live catalog belongs in HVAC proposal software.

Will the total become the invoice?

Not from this page. An invoice is a later document. The HVAC invoice template is that later sheet. This page stops at the estimate total you just calculated.

Put the Lines on the Customer Record

The estimate number, the rates you typed, and the exclusion belong next to the household, not in a file only one rep can find.
